The Management Board at Kabel Deutschland GmbH
Kabel Deutschland GmbH has a two-tiered corporate governance structure consisting of the Management Board and the Supervisory Board.
The Management Board is responsible for the operational management of Kabel Deutschland. The members of the Management Board are appointed by the Supervisory Board and can also be dismissed by the Supervisory Board.
The Management Board reports to the Supervisory Board on a regular basis on the current development of business and changes in the business strategy.
The Management Board consists of three members.
Dr. Adrian v. Hammerstein
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dr. Adrian v. Hammerstein (born in 1953) has been
Chief Executive Officer of Kabel Deutschland since May 2007.
He holds a doctorate in economics and has been active as an executive in the sector of information and communications for 20 years. In his most recent position, v. Hammerstein was CEO at Siemens Business Services, an IT service provider. Prior to that v. Hammerstein managed the business of Fujitsu Siemens Computers for five years, first as CFO then as CEO. Under his leadership, the joint venture evolved into a profitable and recognized supplier of IT hardware and infrastructure. Previous stages of his occupational history include CFO of the Information and Communications Products Group at Siemens AG, Finance Director of the Open Enterprise Computing Division at Siemens Nixdorf and System Business Finance Manager at Digital Equipment.
Dr. Manuel Cubero
Member of the Management Board / Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
Dr. Manuel Cubero (born in 1963) has been Vice President at Kabel Deutschland since November 2003. He was appointed Managing Director, responsible for Cable TV and content in December 2005. Since November 2006 he also takes responsibility for the product area Cable Internet and Phone. As he assumed the position of the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in April 2007 he is also responsible for sales and marketing. This includes sales to private customers, small and medium-sized companies, large corporations, and housing associations. In July 2008 he took over responsibility for Customer Services.
Before joining KDG, he held various positions within the German media-company Kirch Gruppe: He was among other positions responsible for the digital playout center and managing director of Beta Technik Beteiligungs GmbH. He was also founder and managing director of an internet betting company in Austria and worked as a consultant. Cubero holds a doctorate degree in physics from Darmstadt Technical University, Germany, and an MBA from INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. He has been President of Cable Europe (European Cable Communications Association) since February 2006.
PAUL THOMASON
Member of the Management Board / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Paul Thomason (born in 1955) has been a member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Kabel Deutschland GmbH since March 2003. Paul has more than 20 years of experience in the communication sector in Europe and the USA. His specialties include mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and strategic acquisitions. After serving as Chief Financial Officer at Kabelmedia, Eschborn, from 1996 to 1998, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of PrimaCom AG, Mainz, from 1998 to 2002. In this capacity, Paul Thomason had financial, administrative, and strategic responsibility for the listed cable network operator. He was also responsible for PrimaCom’s initial public offering.
